Why can't I see the link I have submitted? | | A: |
Your link is submitted for review and is checked before it will appear on the
site. The site you see is created automatically from a database but it is usually only
rebuilt once a week so please be patient. |

Can I submit my site? | | A: |
The newham.net site is a "gateway" to sites created in and/or about
Newham. If you live, work or study in Newham you can submit a personal site
providing your site makes reference to Newham.. Any business, voluntary
organisation or public body based in Newham can submit a site. The site should
include the "real world" contact address.. Sites that do not emanate from
Newham may be acceptable if the content is directly relevant to Newham and
Newham is specifically mentioned on the site. |

Do I have to own a site in order to submit it? | | A: |
No. Providing the link you wish to submit meets the conditions for inclusion
anyone can submit it. Ideally the description of the site should be taken from
the site itself, it should be neutral and not make comment on the quality of a
site. Please refer to Search Links help for
further guidance. |

My company sells goods or services to Newham, can I submit my company's site? | | A: |
Sites belonging to companies that do not have an address in Newham will not be
accepted unless the site makes specific reference to work carried out in Newham
in which case you should submit a link that targets the most prominent mention of Newham. |

My site is not in English, can I submit it? | | A: |
Providing that your site meets the conditions for an English language site it
can be submitted though approval may take longer than a week as we will need to
have independent verification of the content. The notes you submit about the
link must be in English and must make clear what language the site is in. |

What category do I submit my site to? | | A: |
Admittedly this can sometimes be difficult. Please consult the category
guide
and look at existing sites to see if you can find something similar. Commercial sites should be submitted to the Business category unless there is a category that more accurately reflects your site, such as Health or Sports.
If your site allows people to buy online then please submit it to the Shopping Online
category in addition to any other category. If you are unable to locate an appropriate category please use miscellaneous and
the editors will try and find an appropriate place for it. |

Can I submit my site to more than one category? | | A: |
You may only make one link to your home page. If you feel that your site is relevant to more than one category then submit it where
relevant making the link to the most relevant part of your site. Choose the most relevant categories to submit to first. Spamming the directory (submitting multiple entries to irrelevant categories)
is likely to result in your site being rejected. |

If your site relates to a specific area such as Forest Gate then it's best to submit it to
the local and regional category. |

Sites with very little content may be refused, also the Newham.net site is used in
local schools and sites submitted should take this into consideration. Sites
with Adult content will not be listed. |
